Brisbane Improv Festival - a celebration of improvised comedy in Brisbane 22 - 29 July
Facilitated by Ben Zolno (ImprovConnection.net - Aotearoa/NZ)
Players not knowing each other's boundaries can be scary; it's not only unsafe, but also prevents us from fully diving into the play we love! So if you're a teacher, director, or a performer who wants tools to truly dive into improv with a whole new level of freedom and safety, come learn a consent method developed with intimacy choreographers that's brought the work of Improv Connection (NZ) to a new level. Discover and convey your boundaries, see how we build a safety net for our classes and shows, and share your own experiences. Steal these techniques; they're so helpful.
About Ben
Ben began his improv journey studying with Second City, Annoyance, and UCB, and performed on teams at IO Chicago. He had the good fortune to have studied and/or played with many legends of improv and sketch for over 20 years. In 2018, he debuted an improvised-dialogue feature at the Cinequest Film Festival. Soon after, Ben founded New Zealand's Improv Connection in Wellington, a school and performance company focusing on emotion-inspired unscripted theatre. While his grounded-improv duo Doom & Bloom was a finalist for the World Wide Comedy awards, he also performs short-form silliness with The Improvisors to sugar-high 5 year-olds and drunk 50 year-olds.
