This class is designed to introduce participants to Big Fork Theatre's approach to improvised comedy. No previous acting or improv experience is required to participate.
In level 1 you will be encouraged to explore your creativity, build your confidence and have fun whilst developing the basic skills of improvisation.
Improv Fundamentals focuses on the basic tenets of scenic improvisation.
Specific skills and topics covered:

Listening
Creating a character
Supporting your scene partner and the performance
Object /Environment work (mime)
Introductory long-form improvisation techniques.
Early bird pricing: Full $290, Concession $240 until 5 July.
Regular pricing: Full $320, Concession $270.
This course meets for 6 sessions that are each 3 hours long. There will be a graduation show at the end of the course. Once graduated, students are invited to join our regular improv jams. Once graduated students are invited to join our weekly improv jams.
The course will be held at Big Fork Theatre, Level 2, 252 St Pauls Tce Fortitude Valley 4006
COVID 19
All participants must be fully vaccinated and show proof of vaccination upon entry to the class. Those with medical exemptions from their registered GP should send proof of this exemption to training@bigforktheatre.com ahead of the class.
We will be conducting our classes in line with the latest social distancing guidelines and restrictions for COVID 19 (if any) in place at the time of the class. Students will be informed of any changes that may affect this class. It is expected that students will follow the teacher's instructions on social distancing and will not come to class when sick.
